Bootstraps non profit community fitness club seeks boosters!

Kia ora!

We are Fitclub at the Hub, a registered non profit community fitness club based in Phillipstown, Christchurch.

Fitclub was born almost six years ago out of the need for mums with young children to connect and pursue a healthy lifestyle in a relaxed, non threatening and kid friendly space. We started as nomads, using any space available in our community center the Phillipstown Community Hub.

We've grown since into a humble but thriving community fitness studio, offering more than a dozen group exercise opportunities a week plus a well equipped small gym from our permanent base at the Hub. We operate in a lower income community that experiences significant disadvantage, so we aim to remove every possible barrier to an active lifestyle. Mums with kids continue to be our core kaupapa but we've also worked to get kids more active and piloted a fun seated exercise program for intellectually challenged older adults, among other projects.

Fitclub is led by 2 qualified personal trainers (NZIHF Cert levels 4&5) and an experienced team of peer coaches, all of whom joined the club as members. We have an enthusiastic and connected community. But we could do with some practical support!

We're looking for:

- financial support/sponsorship to help us pay the rent;

- donations of used but serviceable fitness equipment to help us deliver more services to our community;

- donations of *time* from qualified fitness professionals to allow us to deliver a broader range of classes;

- and finally, sponsorship for uniforms for our dedicated team!

If you're a business or individual keen to help a little non-profit with a big heart, we'd love to hear from you. Please email [email protected] to connect with us!

Thanks in advance for your support 💜

Kind regards,

Carly McCall- manager & head coach
